The BLUES Project wishes to bring closer vocational education and training (VET) to the world of work to ensure preparation of the skilled workforce with skills, knowledge and competences relevant to the blue economy sectors (such as coastal, cruise tourism, Maritime Safety and Security and Greening Maritime Transport and Fisheries Monitoring and Aquaculture) and labour market needs and the local and national economy, to enhance attractiveness of VET, to increase number of skilled professionals and graduates with VET qualifications and to improve employment in the sector overall.
The aim of this short-term intensive course is to train and prepare the partners’ staff (train the trainers) so as to be able to inform the target group during the pilot testing (IO1,2, 3) and the multiplier events as regards to the BLUES material and the use of the BLUES One Stop Shop Portal (IO4), explain the technical specifications, present ways on how to deliver the material in order to generate more traffic to the Portal.
The added value of this activity is to demonstrate the importance of the training material in facilitating the work undertaken by professionals, while having the opportunity to interact in a multi-national environment, exchanging ideas and experiences on this issue. Moreover, this mobility supports a multidisciplinary approach through which partner organization staff are experts in their countries dealing with VET provision, Blue Growth and employability skills development (adult educators, researchers, civil servants of Local and Regional Authorities) coming from different educational and social backgrounds meet in a joint course focusing on the same topic. Similarly, the partners' staff will contribute to the discussions via their experiences, thus bringing together feedback from different regions of the European Union in one learning activity with a common objective.
